Need help picking out paint for the Arleigh Burke

Post by Zerro »

Greetings,

I have just recently purchased the Trumpeter 1:350 Arleigh Burke. I have all but two of the paints required for the model.

I need Medium Gunship Grey which would be Model Master's 1723 or Tamiya XF58(even though it says Olive Green)
I also need Grey or Model Master 1728 or Tamiya XF19

I think I found the Gunship grey that I'll need. I chose Tamiya AS-27 and Model Master's 1723. I wanted to use the spray paint for the larger areas and the brush on paint for touchups and smaller areas. I was just wondering if these would be good for my model?

As for the 'Grey' that I need; Lets face it, I doubt there is just a plain grey paint. It seems like there are multiple shades of grey. I want to get the XF19 but my only problem is is that it's a brush on paint and I also want it in spray paint form for the larger applications but Tamiya doesn't make Sky Grey spray paint. I was wondering what someone would recommend as an alternative color?

Thanks!
Brian D
