H.M.S. York (Dragon) in 1:700 (Apology I does not know so well English)

Today I want to try again to start a building report, the construction of my new model project. I hope I can tell you in a relatively short time periods here.
It all started on the hobby-gaming convention in Leipzig, where I could buy the kit for a relatively low price.
The model is a Premium Edition, thus with a small photo etch board for the refinement of the model.
After having the network of the 1000 information was unfortunately not really suitable image for the project, I will try me something about living by the packaging image.
This time I wanted to first start with the design of the water surface because I wanted to definitely try to design a somewhat rougher seas.
First, again, a suitable MDF-board cut and the model for the sample set until the final position was determined.



Now I've been using the balsa strips glued to the wave crests 10x10mm and fit the model.





After everything was prepared well and dried in the rough shape, I could go with plasters to water activities.







2 days drying time was necessary zutrocknen to the water. Now could be mixed to the water surface from a mixture of black, blue and green color.
All reap good and again allow to dry. This was followed by a layer of matte acrylic glaze and the application of a thick layer of acrylic gel.
Following was a very hard brush, the first show and all shades of color applied with acrylic glaze glossy covers.

Nice try so far.Your seascape painting is very nice.

One advise :there are almost never symmetrical waves in heavy seas in the open oean .Unless you are by the beach.Study the first picture with the HMS Liverpool alongside the New Jersey in the 1980's or even the one above it.There is NO symmetry to the waves .This will go a long way into making the whole scene more realistic to the eye.

I can not agree entirely.
While my driving time in the Navy I have also experienced storm in different variants. Secure each wave is different, but known to me photos of the Type 42 in the storm (the Internet) shows the waves at these positions and in this form. The rest is a little artistic freedom.
The photo of "Rugged B" shows the HMS Liverpool at the drive through the diagonal waves and transverse waves of the New Jersey. Here the effect of immersion of the vessel is formed in the shaft, even though no storm is available. There is a maximum sea state 3-4.
I hope you can understand my words.

So, after the last few days I always had plenty of variety through the snow slide, I'd like to have a little review on the progress of the model.

Since the design of the water was first finished, I could devote myself to the model. This time I wanted to try this model to paint with the brush.
Well that was just a flop. Is definitely not my thing. See pictures:










As you can see the color is very streaky and blotchy. Whether it's because I was no primer used to say I can not. It looked definitely ":censored_2:" from.
So everything down again with soap and lukewarm water that goes very well with the Vallejo and Revell colors.

But now everything with the gun carried on and of course with primer.
First, the decks with Revell (36 177) and then the hull completely sprayed with black from Vallejo (71 057).



Just landed a 2mm wide strip from glued and the color gray (Revell 36 371 + 3 ml 36 177 + 4mm Vallejo 71 004) and Red (Vallejo 71 084) on sprayed.



On many models you can see the photos by the lake, the sheet of the fuselage was crumpled with the taut structure and it is a sort of rectangular pattern found.

So once again ask all the paint off and re-sprayed on. No more such experiments.
The etched parts were primed and painted with the same well with gray.



So I need a model only a few small spots repaired if it is necessary.
After a two-day break, I've also started to block parts of the model.



Sorry, you realize the molding with the pieces of equipment are old already. It can be seen in many places, an offset of Went up to the little stuff off very well. Model building is so beautiful in this scale!

Last night was my "big"moment. I wanted to block the first etched parts. In particular, the radar was first work as a little challenge for me. But after 30 minutes was all done and glued the 7 parts together.


Since I've been looking forward properly.

So after a few little things were built, the boat now looks like this.

Nice progress so far! I really like the seascape. As I also still have a Batch III in stock, I'll be watching this one.

I like your attempt at the distorted panels on the hull. Maybe try using a fine mesh to spray through ?. Worth experimenting with though i think may work better on larger scale models.
