Calling all RN Town-class (1936) & Fiji-class (Crown Colony-class) fans

Hello everybody!!! Does anybody out there have any photo's of the belfast around 1944? I have to make new masts for the 1/600 scale for a customer and I have to make sure I make correct ones. The kit masts were lost sometime ago so I don't have much to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Sounds like you need a copy of the Profile Morskie book - if you don't have it, let me know and I'll scan the mast profile for you.

I though I was ready and prepared to open the box of this cruiser, but when I did it WEM surprised me, the quality of this kit is stunning, I'm affected

Now I know what to build next winter when my drydock will be free by the Barham, I'm plenty of questions about this ship but there is time to study her history and her tech.

I have seen photos of HMS Newcastle under repair in the USA, and at sea in her new camouflage scheme. Unfortunately I've lost my electronic copies of these, and would appreciate help recovering them.

I would also like to know the colours used, the scheme on the other side of the ship (if different) and the AA fit at this time. A lot, I know.

If I knew that, I might know where to look for them. I only know that I did copy them across onto my computer, and I can't find them on it now. I guess the wriggly amps have wriggled away. That or dark matter.

Thankfully, I have managed to track down the original source - on Steel Navy. I'd still appreciate a view of the other side camouflage pattern, and the colours used.

A came across this photo on the AWM site and thought I'd put this rather nice photo of HMS Glasgow & HMS Enterprise taken in February 1942 in Keppel Harbour at Singapore.
Note you can make out some of the interesting camouflage pattern Glasgow still wore at this time and both ships are very lightly loaded:

Dear Laurence,

I have no great interest in either of these ships (and so have not researched their movements in any detail), but something tells me that either the date or location (or both) given by the AWM for the picture of Glasgow and Enterprise is wrong. January 42 maybe and Singapore, Ceylon maybe and February 42 - but not February 42 and Singapore.

Hi Dick,
I didn't double check the date or location as one would expect that Australian archive staff are doing their job.
I could not find any specific reference as to when these 2 cruisers were together, however, between June and December 1941 Glasgow called into Singapore on several occasions as she was escorting convoys and raider hunting in the vicinity. HMS Enterprise was in the vicinity from around Feb 1941 onwards. It is hard to pin down precisely both of these ships as they were escorting and providing support for numerous convoys to and from Singapore and also very busy in the Indian Ocean.

Going by Glasgow's 'contrast type' camouflage scheme being in place and already looking weathered, and which was applied in August 1941, this would lend the photo to be more likely a late-1941 shot.
