I posted this in the main forum also--but thought perhaps this may be a more specific target audience with answers...

3-D digital modelling.
I have seen over the years various versions of this, some plain some incredibly intricate of various famous ships
From a solids modelmaking viewpoint; I guess to make the shapes and sizes work in a digital 3-d digital format with rotational options all the dimensions have to work and be therefore accurate-otherwise the 'structures' would be 'bent/illogical'...
So... how reliable/trustworthy are perspective views as guide to us solids modellers/kit assemblers/ scratcbuilders when the 2-d views found in plans do not give the information sought or I the photographs to hand are unable to give a view of the exact area!
Maybe I am being too pernickety--my current project-and Armoured cruiser of the late 1880's is so full of grey areas-despite having plans and photo images that have spent more time poring over photos and creating 'feasibilty sketches' than actually building the wretched model!!!
so had there been a 3-d model rendering i would have gladly used it!
anyhow--I am now at the stage of rigging the model--so it is a bit late now for this project--but I would be intersted to hear your views

this looks excellent--and inspires me to build YET another tegethoff class battleship

interesting perpective views that usually elude one in 2-d plans
