Hi, all - apologies in advance if this question is in the wrong forum.
Regarding the bound "book" plan sets that Mr. Borchers sells, can anyone give an impression of their general quality? I'm in search of hull plans (G.O. Squier class transport) that only seem to be in two places: Maryland Silver and (naturally) the National Archives. Although the Maryland Silver books are somewhat dear, it's probably a lot cheaper than hiring a researcher or traveling to MD!
I'm interested in how well the blueprints translate to the smaller book format - are the reproductions generally clear, legible, etc.? Thanks in advance for your help!

I wonder if this was too specific a forum to place this request? I've done some additional searching here and elsewhere, and I can't get a read on the "consumer satisfaction" with Maryland Silver. Oh, well; I'll keep fishing. I suspect I'll end up trying every source I can for these (rare?) plans, and then I'll ask around for more help.
Chances are, there's a builder on these forums who has already done one!

I have purchased three of the Maryland Silver Company plan books (Colhoun Class APDs and FS-253 & FS/FP-135 Class Army Cargo ships (same as AK-L cargo ships). Although pricey, I feel they are worth it. The books include details that are difficult to find elsewhere. Plans are printed on 11x17 paper and are reduced about 1/2 the original size. Plans are often split over two or three pages.
Plans' repro quality varies with the quality of the original materials. For instance, except for two or three pages, the repro quality of the FS/FP/AK-L books are very good. On the other hand, the APD plans range from very good to barely readable - but since the plans cover several different ships, the differences are still educational.
