Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set

Post by Pontosmodel »

Hi All,

Just after back from SMW2012, I found two Big cartons laid on our office floor.
And my unread emails have been stacked about Bismarck...
Especially all new German friends met at Telford also eagerly wish to meet our Bismarck detail up set.
Practically from last year we had started this project already and some German Modelers already have sent wonderful references, photos and information to us.

The References we have are

This set will have contents as

1. Wooden deck.
Will have wooden deck.

2. Turned brass parts:
All possible turned brass parts will be included...
Precise 380mm/150mm/105mm/37mm/20mm will be included.
So you need not buy extra barrel sets.

3. Photo Etching parts
I cannot tell how many but I don't mind any limit in realizing with PE.

4. Resin.
Some may be added.

5. Dry Transfer
Water draft marks

6. Etc.
If you have this set, we try to do you need not buy other material as few as possible.
So some more materials may be added.

Releasing date:
Surely this is a big project but we will try you can see this set at January.

Keep your eyes on this Thread.

If you have any suggestion or advice, please post and leave message on this thread.

Thank you

This is a tad bit unrelated, but is there any chance of you releasing a set for Trumpy's 1/350 Alabama/Massachusetts? :P Been waiting for that one for a long time.

Also, looking forward to the Bismarck set.

Blast bags for the 1/200 and 1/350. it is so silly that no one has them with the kits or aftermarket. nearly all photos show Bismarck with them, Dragon has them with the Scharnhorst.

after using your warspite set i hoped you would make this set. i look forward to this set when it comes out. I am also buying the 1/200 yamato; any chance you could enlarge your 1/350 yamato set to 1/200, as i have been looking around and no one does a complete yamato 1/200 pe set.

thanks.

1)Proper polished brass propellers and if possible some metal shafts. In that scale most people i imagine they will go for a full hull museum style display so brass propellers is a must.

2)Some new brass pedestals specially for this size about 2 inches high and as minimalistic in shape as possible. Make sure the screw thread is of a European standard , and not some obscure American standard , so we can find and fit longer screws if needed.Even in the States they have a hard time to find some of their own proper screws when they need them.

3)A proper brass nameplate .Ill be having one made custom for mine , but i guess a lot of people will find it handy to include one as well.I think this should become a trend for you as you supply the pedestals already in your sets. These are items that have to do with the display of a full hull model and should be used both .And i dont mean a cheap one like Lion Roar sets for 1/700 kits. These are ok for general purposes but not for the collector or someone serious about displaying their kits.Real thick brass please.

4)Stencils for those who want to paint the swastikas on the deck.Decals wont cut it at that scale.

5 A couple of brass shells for the main guns? The extra turret with its interior begs for some of these.

I assume everything else will be covered by your usual high quality work .These are really some points that although not essential , they will add an extra touch of museum quality to an otherwise plastic model. As this set due to its sheer size wont be cheap - lets not kid ourselves here- we might as well get the full monty .

If i think of something else i will be posting it.

All these are some points that i would like to have for my Arizona 1/200 .Unfortunately i dont so i have to improvise , but at least you have the time and resources to fix that problem for the 1/200 Bismarck.
Good luck.

Our schedule is stacked until 2014.
But we also hope to release for 1/200 Yamato fully.
so please do not build 1/200 Yamato until we release though some years after maybe.

Thank you for your points.
1-2. Today I've checked the Screw of Kit and metal screws packed in trumpter's accessory set.
I think Plastic Screw is better than White metal's
And plastick Screw of this bismarck is quite well designed and thin.
However there may be brass screw but the shape is not so good though these are thin.
I've contacted some Metal screw manufacturers but the supplying price is too high...
But I will try to find more for better Metal screws.
And as for the shaft this may be possible.
I will check the Kit shaft again.

3. Name plate is also good idea especially for this big project.
4. Masking sheet for Swastika will be included..
5. Shell: well may be some canl be included as it is easy work.

I wil to try to put some more if possible not to take much time in producing.

Thank you
Kim

Yes the propellers included in the kit might be thin and dimensionally correct (havent seen them myself yet ) but even so they are still plastic. And we all know that even the best painter in the world cannot reproduce a polished brass shiny color with any paint , specially when he has to paint on plastic surface .They will be ok dimensionally but they will look painted plastic which kinda is a shame for this size.

After Bismarck(1/200 1/350) we would do LitorioClass, Mikasa, Richelieu, Hood, Iowa Class WWII, South Dakoda Class, North Carolina/Washington, Graf Spee, Scharnhorst, Nagato and Enterprise final version.
And Warspite 1938-1941, Warspite for Trumpeter, Dreadnought for Trumpeter will also be released.
The orders will be changed....

THank you

Are you going to do a set for the 1/350 Arizona? Not that you shouldn't, but I feel it a bit of a wasted effort. The Hobbyboss/Banner kit just isn't up to scratch with what your detail sets deserves. Not really worth it, considering that there are lots of sets out there already, and even with the best detail set, it isn't going to be acceptable end results to the ones that usually enjoys your products.
