My error sir, note withdrawn. Excellent, should have seen the ladder, although I did look. Simply reinforces the point that your detailing is better than my eyesight!

Extraordinarily well done, interesting and unusual subject and setting.

Minor scenic note, how did the party on the ice get there?

Mac

Hi, Jim!
The flag was a Soviet - red. This flag was in all civil courts and the Soviet merchant ships from 1918 to 1992.
On the main mast rising pennant Northern Shipping Company in 1923, and in 1932 raised the pennant NSRA.
Pennants can be seen in this picture:

I believe you have to fall down once or twice to grasp the fact this is 1-700, then ''try'' and explain to someone that this is actually a model, great close up shots (thanks Jim). And if I'm allowed to say ''it looks bloody cold''

At long last... I can now begin to obsess about something new ....  :lol_3:

It has been a most interesting project--and do thank all my e-chums who have been most helpful all round the world

especially Kronma and Cerberus jf--who both have an uncanny knack of being able to see 'the wood for the trees....'

much to my good fortune... :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :cool_2:

I have shot rather a lot of photos--full coverage in the Gallery soon.

here is a preview of what the completed shippy looks like

Onwards to the next project

I'll find a fault if I keep looking lol, all joking apart, this is honestly one of the best I have seen from you in quite a while, and the other stuff is gobsmackingly good so I am way impressed by this one.

@ Le Bosco-- thank you--merci Beaucoup!

@ alec.... good point in principle... :wave_1:

however not a single photo of Krassin-

-even the large high res images-- do not show any discernible discolouration of the funnels

The black tops of course are quite broad--and despite being a coalburner contemporay photos show littel or no sooting down the yellow parts either--I can only conclude that the very tall funnels were effctive at smoke dispersal ! :thumbs_up_1:
