A Chinese company, Takom, has a 1/350 scale Soviet destroyer Gremyashchiy in its 1942 configuration listed. If they actually release it a new soviet destroyer is always welcome.

Reason: Link fixed to show direct page for the Grem.

OK, but I am a bit sad that they do not continue their line of modern destroyers after the German and Italian ones. Providers are mainly focused on WWII, but we are missing warships of the modern era.

A nicely filled gap, not much WW2 Soviet stuff available in plastic.

Good to see it's also being offered as the now preserved Anshan. I imagine that will be the moneymaker.

Randall W is painting an early CVN65 painting , which seems awfully similar to a box art...

I asked Randy, it's for a private commission, not a box art.

Nice but ... announcements are just blabla until the announcer delivers. Very Fire announced Hiei and Shinano at 1/350, Trumpeter announced Algrie, New Mexico, Royal Oak and now Scharnhorst ( not to speak about Baltimore or Nelson ) also at 1/350.
Seems to me a lot of announcements, but little delivered.
Maybe they are just trying to focus the attention of Santa Claus ...

Scharnhorst has been announced as an October release.

Difference being the Royal Oak is actually on Trumpeter's website with photos of the kit built-up, and stores are taking orders with a deliver date - something Algerie, New Mex, Baltimore, and Nelson never reached.

Trumpeter has posted photos of their test model of their 1/700 HMS Queen Elizabeth R08: http://trumpeter-china.com/index.php?g= ... ow&id=4116

Border Models has announced a "1965" version of Yamato, which includes antiship missiles so goes rather further than the modernized version used in The Man in the High Castle series: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 3663186491

Got my preorder in for Cruiser San Diego. Now, a USS California would suit me just fine.

I think it belongs here, since it has not been mentioned before - Taiwanese company Freedom Model Kits released a new boxing of their French FREMM Class frigate, with 3D printed parts to represent modifications in recent years. Decals are available for ships D651 (Normandie) to D655 (Bretagne), thus missing the D650 Aquitaine. The lead ship of the class has been, however, released in the first boxing, plus the French FREMMs have all lost their identification markings after 2022 and are currently indistinguishable.

Has anyone seen the rebox in person? It would be interesting to see how the 3D parts turned out, given that the plastic parts are a bit soft in terms of detail.

Nope, but for the curious, here's the poster showing which parts are new: https://www.hobbyeasy.com/upload/suppli ... 83002A.jpg

Have a look here (scroll to the bottom and click on the small pictures):
https://700tonnants.forumactif.com/t159 ... 00-freedom

The 3D parts are horrible crap, wayyyyy below other manufacturer's: rough shapes, no details, oversized supports... Well, a nightmare! Never seen this with any other brand.

Announcement from FlyHawk in 1/700 scale:

German heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer

German battleship Tirpitz

https://www.facebook.com/groups/700scalemodels/posts/3049319681942843/? mibextid=wwXIfr

This announcement has been around for a long time for the Admiral Scheer, but now it looks more concrete!
