Heres your requested info.
NEED THE FOLLOWING:
1. Dishwashing liquid
2. Artists chalk
3. Old bowl to mix items in.
4. Razor blade or Hobby knife
5. Cotton buds/Q-tips/toilet paper
6. Cup of water
First: In the bowl, scrape off a amount of artists chalk that you will feel needed for the job
Second: Add a 1 CM sized dollop of dishwashing liquid to the center of the chalk. Then add a small amount of water.
Third: Mix well making a chalk slurry of the above ingredients. Mix with a cotton bud, works well for me.
Fourth: Apply mixture to the surfaces that you want to dirty up. I reccomend applying to a glossy surface, as a dull finish will stain and is very difficult to erase mistakes.
Fifth: Let this dry for an hour or so.
Sixth: Wet cotton buds/Q tips/toilet paper (folded up into usable squares) and remove any excess around the lines or places that you don't want it. You can be careful and blend into unweathered areas with this method.
Seventh: When you have achieved desired results, allow to dry for at least a week, then spray gloss or flat cote on top to seal the weathering in
This should cover everything, any questions, just ask em here!
DISCLAMER: This works for me, it may not work for you and I wont buy you a replacement Nimitz if you goof it up.

Re: How to weather using chalk
Or instead of waiting a week, you can use klear floor polish instead of detergent/water. It does exactly the same thing & seals in the chalk :> Just applied second coat after only 2 hours :>
