Great Paint Stripper

Found a great paint stripper. It works on Tamiya paints. It's called Chameleon Model Paint Stripper. Comes in a 16 oz bottle. Cost is somewhere around $12 - $13.

Ammonia type window cleaner stripped Tamiya acrylic effectively.

LOL I am cheap!!
I use Oven cleaner after its been in a baggie for
20 minutes in the refrig!!!

I use Easy-Off lemon scented oven cleaner.
Works great but, make sure you use gloves to protect your hands.

Is there some kind of paint thinner that's not hazardous to your skin?? Currently using regular laquer thinner, and am watching my skin peel...

Timmy, stay away from the lacquer thinner!

There are a few more things out there that won't burn your brain (and skin) up. You would be better off with brake fluid. There's a cleaner that comes in a purple bottle that you can get at the automotive stores that works well. Can't remember the name of it now. Check it out.

i go to wally world where in the auto section they carry casterol purple clean, a contrate which will strip paint off plastic in no time. you can also recycle & use it over oand over . of course you need to filter it . i used to use grake fluid,oven cleaner etc. no more this stuuff does good.just let it soak , get a tpthbrush & off it comes. so far it has not done any damage to any plastic.

Would that be castrol superclean wheel cleaner?

sorry for late reply, it is castrol purple clean, it is in a purpleish colored container. also wear gloves wnen using this . i have used on all of my plastic ships with no problem . in my opinion it is far better than oven cleaner or brake fluid. jameyt
