These first 2 pictures are from June 15th:

Here's the England now, on June 28th - still missing AA/torpedo deck railings, rigging, rafts, boat & derrick, and waterbase. Some paint touchups will be done later.

This is my Trumpeter 1/350 England, in MS 32/3d port and MS 32/something starboard. "Something" because the picture sent to me of the England's starboard side wearing splinter scheme does not correspond to any existing patterns, but most closely resembles 3d, which is why I chose it for the port side. I guessed as close as possible to the picture shown to me, and here's the result:

http://i29.tinypic.com/34rwzfn.jpg

This is also the first time that I've dealt with aftermarket photoetch, and am using GMM's Buckley/England set.
Cable reels were a copper wire core wrapped with electrical wire:

I've cut off the kit 20mm barrels and replaced it with electrical wire:

The reels all look good!

Did you hand paint them or airbrushed

Looking good Timmy. I've just bought this kit on a whim as I was in my LHS for something else but I've got a couple of other projects to finish before I'll get a chance to make a start on it.

It´s never late to show so a nice buiilding. Very sharp and clean.

A question if I may: Did the hedgehog come with the kit or is it aftermarket?. Or is it scratchbuilt?. I have to build a couple for my Fletcher and this one looks very nice.

Cheers.
Pachi.

Thanks guys!

@Molders: Haha, that was the first part that I painted, and since it wasn't a straight line, I didn't use masking =P I'll go back to fix it up when I pick up the 5-L again.

@Francisco: The hedgehog base is from the kit - the projectiles and blast shield are from the GMM set. You'll have to cut off the kit's molded-on imitation-projectile pegs.

Timmy,

Your USS England look great.

I thought the paint job was airbrushed and now knowing that it was hand brushed, I still think it looks airbrushed.

Well done Timmy.

Looking forward to more pictures.
