Picture uploading tool seems to be having problems. For now, please do it the old fashioned way - that is, uploading the pics onto another site (I prefer www.tinypic.com ) and copy and paste the direct link to image from there to here.

Hey Steve, those welds look amazing on the deck!

Do you have any pics of the process? I know how you actually did them, but I can't tell one piece of tape from the next, how'd you get it looking so crisp and invisible?!
It's not who you are, but what you do that defines you.

Don't think so Reid. Maybe later. I'll need a rest after this one for a bit.

Kenny thanks. I just use thin round styrene. Glue it down with plastic-weld and then take a low temp soldiering iron to it. A bit os sanding after that.

Thanks Ron too,

Steve,

She's looking very good! :thumbs_up_1:

On a side note, I spent 3+ hours searching for aluminum adhesive tape & came up empty handed - only found one line of HVAC shops in a local building material market that carry a paperbacked aluminum tape WITHOUT adhesive... and to think this is probably where 70% of the worlds tape comes from! Wish I had my camera at the time since you'd love seeing what I go through on my SAR (search & rummage) missions looking for hobby supplies here in China - its definitely not Smith Brothers in Northridge! I've since sent inquiries to several local factories to get samples of their 2 & 2.5 mil product.

Thanks, but I'm certainly in no hurry & can wait for the factory sample. It would cost $20+ to send that through the mail & I paid the equivalent of $0.15 per roll for what I got over the weekend.

More done today. Took the welds down a bit and cleaned up things. Added the many deck hatches and their hinges. Handle bases.

Now to drill and mark the deck railings locations. Tomorrow I'm going to push at finishing the super structure.

I spent the entire day doing rivets. What a haul! I can only imagine how much more time it would have taken me had I used the old drops of glue method!

I used the tape method. Worked pretty well. I'm not entirely happy with it but a bit of clean up and blending will help tomorrow. Need to dirty it up more.

I made one port hole for the back section of the super structure and made a quickie RTV mold and made 8 of the darn things. Hard to get a clean casting with something that small. R2 Alumilite would have helped. Will be getting some soon for the actual production parts as it's so thin in gets into all the hard to get to places.

More tomorrow. I get to finish off the deck house detail and the hinges for the rest. Next will be all the small parts. We are getting close!

The plating and rivets look soooooo good.

And I love the T-34/76 turret. The T-34, now that was a tough tank.
Have fun, Monkey around. TM

OK. Small parts tomorrow and lets mold this thing!

Here's some more pictures of the finished hinges and small bits.

Reid thanks but I hated the strip of rivets look on the wheel house so I fixed it. Making vents, moorings, anchor hoists and more now. This is the last of it and its molds Monday if I don't die from 110 degree heat!!1

Thanks Reid. I don't understand these poor low intelligences that think this weather is great. Personally I think it's unnatural and unhealthy and the only way you'd catch me out in it is dead.
