Soon after they were constructed, both Dorsetshire and Norfolk received two quad .5 machine gun mounts. These were placed on raised platforms located just forward of the second funnel. As originally fitted these platforms were protected only with two-bar pipe railings, but blast from the 4 guns immediately below must have been an issue because, at some point, they were both raised higher and fitted with plated blast shields.
The only photo that I have been able to find that shows these platforms in any detail is this one, taken after the 1937 refit when the twin 4 mounts were fitted.

I have constructed the platforms just shown on the as-fitted plans. Each platform has two ready-use ammunition lockers along with the machine gun mount. The bridge between the two platforms is shown without railings on the plans and that is how I have built it, but I would not have wanted to walk across it. Common sense suggests that there would have been railings, at least on one side, and I may add some later. There are also brackets for W/T booms that need to be added just inboard of the platforms where the bridge widens out
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, but I have been doing a lot or traveling for work lately and have not been able to do as much on Dorsetshire as I would have liked. Hopefully, I can get a in little more modeling time in the coming weeks.
