. First I have to finish some drawings myself too. Am I the first to say that i don' t like the look of your Daring. What where you thinking when buying this hull man, were you drunk? 
Hi Pim They do say the Daring grows on you!!. Any way I had plans to commence building the Steregushchiy but my work for the "Model Boats" took me in a slightly different direction for now , but it took over 12 months before work commenced on Kiev from when it was first seen on this board and that was five years ago . Once again that was due to the build of the OPV HMS Mersey { for the magazine} and a book ! .But work will start in the not to distant future . At the moment I am deep inside the hanger working in all the pipe work, ventilation, moving gantry crane, electrical boxes, hose reels and dozens of other small items but I could have just closed the door and left it shut! AND for good measure a Merlin HM1 . Then there are two concealed Rib galleries, plenty to drive me crazy in there to. All good practice for work on Project 20380SMART-L wrote:Hi Dave,

Thanks Ron . I must admit working from inside out is proving to be quite a challenge and is pushing the modelling boundries , at least for me that is . When this small part of the Daring is finished as it has to be so I can move on with the rest of the build I'll run a log as to how i managed to fit out the interior of the hanger .Not quite a "ship in a bottle" task but close and I have learend a few tricks along the way as you do when needs must .ARH wrote:If anyone can do it Dave its you,

Running set ? For the Steregushchiy George Sitik is preparing these . For Daring George Sitik props and running gear again .He is a master of his craft.Guest wrote:Dear god, you are putting all the internal details in!!

Hi Dave Thanks, I will be the first to admit when first going aboard Daring there where many features I found difficult to appreciate. In fact Michael Brown TF72 was with me at the time and we both arrived at the same conclusions. However during the course of the build there is much I am learning about this unusual warship, and still learning. One point it is much underestimated. The Hanger area build {my own initiative: heh :} is one of the few parts that allows for some indulgence in scratch building. Not that I think anyone would mind. To me the Daring looks like her designer grew up watching Dr. Who, and when it came time to design the sensor suites, his mind just naturally went to the shape of a Dalek. Who knows? At any rate, there is something undeniably stately about the Darings to me, mixed in with a little dash of 'alien' and 'robotic,' but that's the Future for you. It's different. If it were the same they'd call it 'The Past.'
Hi Callen Thanks for your interest it�s appreciated . Although we are very much at different ends of the modeling spectrum we share a common interest, I'm very much in awe at the abilities of the model maker such as yourself working to such fine scales. I had a dear friend sadly long past away who was a master of ships in bottles and a great inspiration to me .One of his passions was the POW bone models and over the years a subject I have taken an interest in .So it's not the scale or the type of ship model that matters only the result but also how you arrive at that result. I agree very much on how you interpret the appearance of Daring it is very appropriate. My interest to developed the hanger space has in part be inspired by "noplate" and his Lusitania engine room diorama .This for me is a real challenge , although part of a larger model it takes me along a slightly different modelling path .It's not a diorama in the classic sense but has required a slightly different way of thinking as the main focus generally for the �ship modeller� is the exterior of the ship as the interior has little appeal or relevance. There are however modellers of large scale warships keen to develop �in some limited form� the hanger spaces . I say limited as this is not a reflection on their abilities only on what they as modellers wish to include given the information and relevance to the subject being modeled. I think modelling should be more than just a hobby but to some extent a challenge , stretching the abilities and importantly the imagination of the modeller .callen wrote:I think you need to rename this thread the Daring/Steregushchiy project.

Hi Roel Thank you for your kind offer it is much appreciated thankfully I have a reasonable drawing and some pictures but as they say you really never have enough. pictures . do you mean you need some more stuff on Kashtan? In that case, I did some research as I was making a Kashtan in 1/72 long time ago, never finished it though. However I do have a file, including a scale drawing with front and side view of the Kashtan along with some pictures where you can have a look at the backside of the thing as well. If you want that stuff, just let me know.
as I WILL get to build the ship soon.
