After many hours of sanding, shapping and filling this is what she looks like.

Great way of showing how to make a hull..

Thanks Dave and Norbert for your comments . :thanks:
Bob is still undecided on what to build with his T3 hull .He brought over the plans for the Sangamon Class CVE from Floating Drydock ( TFW-CVE-28/8 ) USS Chenango. Note both fighters and dive -bombers on deck .

Image

Image

Image

There are over twenty-five Cimarron Class tankers that could be built with this hull .Cimarron carried four 5in single ,four 40mm double and four 20mm double mounts .

The T3s had somewhat of a spine at the stern .This photo of Sabine shows it well .

Image

I couldn't carve this into the keel and keep it straight and sharp .The solution was to inlay a .042 wire into the stern .First a grove was cut to accept the wire .

Image

Then the wire was glued into the groove .

Image

Now its time to fine tune the prop shaft housings . :heh:

Back again
This is after the fourth coat of primer .
Image

Image

Image

This is the primer I use .It can be sanded and polished to a class A finish .

Image

More sanding and one more coat . :heh:
