Nicolas, I second Jims comment! Very well done and for sure I hope to see the builder and the model at Telford 2012!

This is awesome Nicolas...!
Your scratch building or modifying of parts and then casting resin replacements from your masters is in a different class...
Damn... there are some exceptional modellers on here... no wonder we all learn so much and set ourselves such high standards... the standard on here is truly inspirational. From the very new modellers, through to intermediates like me and then on to the really exceptional modellers, there is room for everyone and we all learn and support each other.
This is yet another WIP thread that all of us will learn from... thanks for sharing...
Stunning... well done

Hello Gentlemans
Thanks you Bill
A little update, it concerns the turrets of the 100 mm C.A.D
Remember, the original parts

The walls of the masks being too thick, I redid masks more realistic (a horror to molding)

The four parts that make up the 100mm

A view from the back (I find more "true")

And finally, a view of the three turrets in their locations on the Richeleieu

see you soon
best regards
Nicolas

Excellent work Nicolas! With all the upgrades you have done. You should think of a mass production and sell them as a kit. Your build is as neat as one can get. What time frame are you building her?
Cheers

Re: 1/350 french battleship RICHELIEU/l'Arsenal Upgrade Set
Good evening all
thank you for yours commants
Sirpaul,my work is not for the market ,at least ,with my means equipment
A little news of the Richelieu ,
the " work of the shade" continuous ,slowly, but surely. The 20 mm were assembled, I do not know if you remember, but I you refreshed the memory
A 20 mm "raw"

And the 20mm assembled

The projectors of 120 ,were assembled , and I'm glad they have really "beautiful head" once mounted

The two expansion chambers are being equipped with their gallowses on top

I made trolleys for the manipulation of paravanes

which are based on the paravanes of the l'arsenal , but have small differences, Differences which are realized with of the plastic card and stretched, the trolleys and paravanes assembled

I was finally able to end the six turrets of 100mm, 40mm rangefinders put in the bathtubs.

All this "small world" on hold with a layer of gray paint
the last molded parts

the same prepared for painting after preparing

the parts in large numbers ,are the coffers of 20mm ammunition, then come and the vents, skylights and compass, positions lights
a support must be added on the shelter of rangefinder navigation

the work was facilitated by a scissors a little special, given by my ophthalmologist

They serve has the ablation of the iris
, they are devilishly effective
and finally a friend ,full of talent (Bgire a model maker which engraved the PE of Mare Island with jean mahieux ) has me engraved a plank of PE with the details ,such as benches, the baptism name, the radar typ 281,......... and many details

a true artist

Such a nice work with molds and P.E., shame to make just one kit from it.denstore wrote:You should consider casting a few extras of the resin parts to sell as an update set. I know I would be willing to pay. Beautiful work, and immensly enhancing the kit.
Perhaps, its possible to produce at least for the enthusiasts in this forum community? 10-12 kits may be?
I'll be next in the que!

Hello gent's
thank's for your comments and for your interest in my work.for the moment 10 -12 kits ,are work "industrial" for me and my amateur equipment
,but who knows....!
Jim ,dont worry,Bruno,is a "god" has six arms
the Hoche P.E must be "on the fire" with other,other,other.... projects
it is so prolific
I'll open another thread, because, having already parts common to all versions,I'll make a montage of Richelieu,in its early version(with seaplanes hangar ,catapults, DCA ,chimney and "castel" modifieds etc etc
best regards

Hello
there 'a few days, I write
the dynamic "boss" of the brand "l'arsenal" decided to produce a set of improvement in resin, from of my "masters" and of my future parts for early career version(1940-43) . the products of l'Arsenal ,have always had an impeccable quality of molding, this is good news for lovers of Richelieu
see you soon

Hello all
A little update of the work . The work focuses on the "castle" I begins with the assembly of many subsets that had been set aside
navigation bridge, and intermediate

all assembled

and ,the PE is installed at this stage,PE which had been cut, folded, painted, and setting aside for a long time

in close-up ,the radar structure engraved by Bruno ,a true marvel of finesse
the same PE in place

the first copy of "la drome d'embarquation "and another rangefinder, molded not by me but by l'Arsenal.....this is very fine

the same in place on the castel

see you soon
Nicolas

VERY good!
I think the Richelieu was one of the few truly "beautiful" battleships... this build really does her justice!
