Hi gentlemen's
Roger ,a Richelieu at 1/96, my gosh  it takes me two years for one at 1/350,I let you imagine how long it would take for a model at 1/96
work on the Richelieu becomes increasingly perilous with my hands full of fingers :D for avoid the manipulations of the hull,
I developed it (I may be, reinventing the wheel   )

Image

what is it???? a cradle of handling

Image

but tilting

Image

it greatly facilitates the work on my model, and it reduces the risk.
the work of yesterday morning

Image

the cradle is not expensive , that's why I wanted to share with you this "thing"

Now that is handy Nicolas, for full hull ships, nice one.
Thats why I like the water based ships now, you can handle the ship more easy with, like me big hands lol  .

Good Idea for other types of modeling too. :wave_1:

Hey guys,
It looks like a great Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbs_up_1: :cool_2: After the hull is secured you can't drop it and damage the quality work being done!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbs_up_1:

You know, it also reminds me of a rotisserie to roast what ever type of meat you desire over a camp fire or the back yard grill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 1/96 scale Richelieu can take as long to complete as you like. Many of the guys take their unfinished ship models to club events to perform testing and it gives them motivation to keep going forward on your build as well. You should check out warship models underway at this link <http://www.wmunderway.8m.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl>.

I have a build thread on this site for my 1/96 scale USS Bennett DD-473 as well. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!!!!! :cool_2: After you build your first RC ship you may never go back to the 1/350th scale ship models again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woo_hoo:

Hello gent's

Roger
I am faithful in love  this is why I do not put your finger in the gears
otherwise, this week a very small progress on my Richellieu
by counting the pieces I realized that I had forgotten the parts(fairleads, small bollards) on the deck, and four parts the use of which escapes me

Image

the rest of the range -finders MK-54 ranging in bathtubs of the 40mm quad

Image

for the end,I redid the "tangons" (I do not know the word in English)

the news "tangons"

Image

the same ,stored to their station on the deck

Image

and for finish, a true "tangon" deployed aboard the Richelieu

Image

see you soon
cheers

Hi gents

my finger now being healed ,I can return to work!
the work begin on the 8 m whaleboats ,indeed, I have made of draws in resin of whaleboats ,in order to represent like this

Image

a normal configuration on the Richelieu, but ,false for the 52 configuration ,indeed, the whaleboats have moved to the back of the ship,
with the presense of davits
I need to redo the tarpaulins of whaleboats and make davits.I begin for the davits

Image

one for each board

Image

then for tarpaulins , I use of cigarette paper,In first, for the general form ,I make a " skeleton " in plastic card

Image

that I puts in form

Image

with wood glue , I stick cigarette paper triangles, for represent the bindings

Image

always with wood glue ,I stick on the " skeleton " a large part of cigarette paper

Image

after have remove the surplus on the periphery and stick the board, rigidify the paper whit the "cyano"

Image

the acpect is very good for the scale ,and do not hesitate to exaggerate the effect of plaices
the davits with the "new" whaleboat

Image

the same in the new place( in the place of a bathtub for 20 mm)on the Richelieu

Image

the most experienced , are certainly bored with my demonstration  but maybe someone was interested

cheers
