My scale 1/350 modeling yard

After a few days off modelmaking I start to finish some of my latest projects, all well known while following my WIP.
My Trafalgar and Kilo Class dio are finished now. The water base, some figures, more small details, forklifts � thanx to my close friend Frank Spahr � and mooring lines are the rest I have done today.

Well next to both dio�s I finished three sub�s. I added a more or less heavy weathering with oil colors. And today I fixed the them on display frame�s made from wood and brass � thanx BMK for the brass stands!

Now there is space and time to go back to some old topics � HMS Montgomery and HMS Peacock!

I have a quick question though regarding 350 scale railings.
Do you use CA or PVA glue to attach ? Also how long would you have the railing sections?

@Simon, I cut the railings to a max. length of about 10cm (3,9 inch) and I usually use CA glue.

After SMW in Telford 2012 I have my head full of inspirations but only very less time for modelmaking because of a lot of work to do in the office. During the festive period I have a few days off and after all the Christmas family business I fortunately found some time to go back to modelmaking.

First I finished the water base for HMS Peacock in preparation to go on further with the kit. The base got actually a first coat of high gloss varnish.

Second, the water base for my MTB diorama is in progress like Peacocks base. I also pursue to detail the quayside. The house got rain gutters, downpipes and a flagpole. The wooden quay got two small footbridges with ladders and I build three street lanterns. Next to some figures I paint all the parts today. Well once the water base has got some more high gloss coats I can assemble the diorama to finish it.

@Abram thank you for your kind comment. Yep, all the parts, except the vehicles (GHQ) and the cobblestone quayside (1/220 railway accessory) are scratch build � see photo.

Hello Gentleman,

still waiting for some parts and information to go on with HMS Tiger I spent some time on some of my other projects and made a good progress on HMS Peacock. The boat got its last coat of paint and is ready now to hand paint the deck and small details. There is only less to do and so I think I will finish her in time for the first 2013 model show at the beginning of April in Heiden.

Last Thursday my Orange Hobby order arrived, Visby Class and Rowangarth tug in scale 1/350. The Visby is already finish for a first coat of paint and the main parts of the tugboat are in place. Two nice little kits with a high level of detail and a clean and sharp casting! The Visby Class is an ugly dug but I saw and photographed two of the class, H�rn�sand and Helsingborg in May 2011 in Plymouth.

Bonjour Nicolas,

thanx for your inspiring photo of your Visby Class. Do you have a more detailed photo or a plan from the buoy you add to the diorama?

I intended to add a first coat of paint to the Visby, but I have a bad cold at the moment and feel not very well.

the buoy was made to feeling ,taking inspiration of photos,therefore no plan
treats this bad cold (3 or 4 glass of vodka ),for come back in better shape than ever

Yesterday I add a first coat of paint to my Visby Class corvette. As you can see on the second detail photo the surface isn�t straight and smooth. Sadly you can realize this effect on the model even with only your eyes. Seems to me that this was a 3D CAD mastered model with an master pattern made from an RPT part but without sanding the master pattern as smooth as possible before starting to cast them.
I will leave it like it is and hope the second, darker coat of paint will cover the effect.
