That is a distinct possibility,my copy is from a PDF i downloaded so i didn't scan it myself..

It seems that there is indeed a problem with the funnel sizes:

WEM will be doing a 'correction set' for the funnels and the bridge venturi.

To quote John Snyder:

'Peter Hall is working frantically to have our PE set ready in time for Telford. In addition, he's working on resin corrections for problems like the funnels, etc.

'Further to John's post, I will add that I am having to make replacements for both the funnels as the the kit parts are both incorrect dimensionally fore and aft and in width. They should only differ in height as the forward deck house is lower which should then bring the tops of the funnels to the same height.
The other part I am correcting is the Bridge Deck. The one in the kit is for the post 1945 refit. While I am at it I will make sure the wind deflector venturi is also correct.

If anyone has any more things they would like included in the WEM PE set, just contact me and be careful what you wish for..

a query regarding HMS Belfast during the Korean war ,photos show a Union Flag painted on the roof of "A" turret ,was the flag also painted on "X" or "Y" turrets?

The union flag was painted on the tops of "A " and " X " turrets. I have several photos of Belfast during this period, and you can clearly see the flags on the turrets mentioned. HTH

By request of some forum members, I made this available to order from Shapeways. This kit offers an upgrade for the four main gun turrets on the 1/350 Trumpeter HMS Belfast, with all barrels mounted on their own axis and correct distance between the two forward and the backward barrels. That is for all four turret gun plates. I'm currently in a situation in which I need to be careful with my income, so I'm not charging a markup on Shapeways' printing price. Maybe in the future I will.

Just to be clear, this is not a turret replacement set - it's just the mounting plates so that the guns themselves are positioned correctly.

OK, so I picked up Trumpeter's Belfast and I have to say - so far, this has been a really enjoyable build. I still have to order the PE & resin replace parts & gun barrels, etc. but I'm really pleased with the ease of assembly.

Having looked carefully at the interior of the hull half mouldings, does anyone want to speculate on how difficult converting one of these to model HMS Edinburgh would be?

Didn't realize I wasn't logged in for that, comment. Still getting used to being back.

Anyway, I looked at the interior of the hull halves and it looks like the only way to do it is backfill the interior with styrene, sand the whole hull back to the original - pre-bulge lines - and mount a new styrene armour belt. Just wondering if anyone else had looked at doing Edinburgh and saw something I missed.

I seem to recall Airfix Magazine did an article on that years ago. That might be something to consider as well, it'd be nice to have a Sheffield to go with Belfast.
