Good Morning, I'm new here and new to modeling. Have spent time looking on the internet for Oriskany kits as I rode her in 72 & 73 era. I've read some combinations folks used and my skill level is pretty basic. Eventually would like to get my skill level up and reproduce an excellant model. Suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
Welcome. Since
Oriskany was part of the Essex class, I moved your post into the Cold War Essex-class thread.
Jim Shirley Productions made a kit of the
Oriskany in 1/700 scale, but that is long out of production.
Christoph Mentzel built the kit, you can find it in the gallery
here.
Gallery Models makes a 1/350 USS
Intrepid with the angled flight deck. If you peruse this thread you may find what you are looking for on how to convert
Intrepid to
Oriskany. I don't know enough about the class to tell you what would be needed to attempt such a conversion. I'm sure others, much more knowledgeable than I, will chime in.
The other option is to find someone to build it for you. Many folks here like
Keith Bender or
Ryan Labieniec build on commission and have both build the recent
Intrepid kit.
Good luck and welcome aboard!
