Yikes! Okay, I'm definitely done then, LOL!

Honestly though, at this point we've pointed out as much as possible. So, unless Mr Kim has questions for us, that should be it.

Memo for Frank (Allen). In view of the plethora of new "finds" while researching the Pontos detail set, have
you given any thought to publishing an abridged version, maybe in the Hood website?. There are reams of
information filling 10 pages in this thread, and was wondering if a condensed version could be considered,
making building this project a tad easier to accomplish. Only a thought.

As I'm working on the decks at the moment, I'd like to see the deck print too :heh: ... but frankly I'd say the set is ready for production.

I'm currently going back through that article and tweaking things (updating images, modifying comments etc.). When that's done, I need to do the same for our article on the Trumpeter 1/350 and 1/700 "as sunk" kits plus the venerable 1/700 Tamiya kit.

I wonder if Pontos have ever considered just foregoing the plastic altogether, and just bringing out an ALL-BRASS version of a kit like the Hood?
No more superglue, no more PVA, no more tamiya extra-thin, just a good quality soldering iron and airbrush.

I reckon an all-brass kit of the complete ship would most likely work out the same as this one as regards final quality & cost.

Mr Kim told me that an extra forward funnel fret would be available too. I've made a resin replacement in readiness for it. I've got some pics of it but unsure how to insert them into the post.

Quite nice indeed. Almost perfect!

Wish we could've gotten the last bridge problem fixed, but that's something modellers can take care of with styrene strips, etc. Of course, a 3D printed part might do the trick as well...

I am quite surprised that no-one has commented on the slip of paper in the first pic!

The price or date or both?
The price is considerably less than the $280 mentioned previously.

Wiring this post on the train to Euston.
Thank you for all who visited our booth at this show especially who reserved this set at the point.
The final price may be quite higher than reservation cash price 200GBP.
Thank you

It was a pleasure to meet you, and having examined the presented model, it WILL be worth every penny/cent/pfennig/kroner or whatever it is you spend in your native country.

Depending on the productions schedule and flexibility left ( :wave_1: )

1) We have not commented on the boats & launches of HMS Hood, an area where the AOTS falls short for the 1941 version
2) The HACS director by Trumpeter is really poor. Good drawings of this director are readily available. This is one item that can be easily provided by the 3D printing community, though. The same probably holds for the pompom directors.

Thought this might be of interest. The resin replica has come out perfect.

It does look good! Was it cast from the plastic funnel? I didn't know resin casting can be made hollow! :thumbs_up_1:
