The latest version of the fairleads look excellent! The 0.5" machine guns also look excellent!

Important information (regarding the 0.5" machine guns) for your instructions: Hood's two front 0.5" machine guns did NOT appear to have shields (if they ever added them, we have no proof...the last known close-up photos show no shields). The two rear 0.5" machine guns DID have shields (we saw the shield still attached to one of the rear guns at the wreck site in 2001).

I am directing this to those in the know, such as FW Allen and co.

We now know that the funnels in the kit are not the same size, and both should be the same size as Trumpeter has depicted as the front funnel.
Because of this i have ordered the Pontos set from Sovereign hobbies as the set that comes with PE parts for two front funnels, knowing I will need to modify the funnel itself to fit the PE, not a problem at all.. but.. can someone please be so kind to define what the base should look like and the mods necessary to allow the larger funnel to fit. I have the AOTS book, but cannot determine from that, and struggle to trust books sometimes..

I have seen talk of the walkway being too wide, the base having rounded corners and then more talk of the radius being slashed with a 45 degree cut?

According to Jamie at sovereign hobbies, this option of the larger rear funnel has been the most popular choice on the Pontos pre-order, so this answer will surely help a lot of people.

So, you have pictured the front funnel base there? The rear funnel will need to be sectioned and made bigger then reshaped on its periphery as you show.

There has been mention that the walkway behind the funnel is too wide? Is this the case also? I just really hope "squeezing" in the correct size funnel doesn't cause too much trouble because trumpeter got everything around the funnel wrong??

Shields will come as optional parts.

Well but the variable speed winch information is lack...
We would finalize winches with this if no more bids.

My extra funnel sprue arrived this morning from Trumpeter/AliExpress - far quicker than I was expecting!

*Really* looking forward to the Pontos set now - latest photos reinforce the feeling that this is going to be something very special (both detail set - and project as a whole).

I think so. Note that there is also a hoisting point on the paravane clearly visible on the image you posted earlier.

Hoisting part is optional at this set. And wall holder also will be added as optional parts.

I hope there is a quick fix/replacement Grizly I've pre-ordered the Pontos set for the larger funnel! I ordered the Trumpeter funnel from Ali early December and wasn't fortunate enough to get one.
