the more I look at it.....man..I'm not sure I know what I'm getting in...the extention/modification they made on her, goes full side to side and all the way up.
the build was from castle, up to rear mast covering 1 cargo opening
its not gonna be just a simple little adding..this is gonna be a big part scratch build ship.
as kit is.....she never sailed in the war time pacific...
I guess I'll take it step by step...and resolve as I go along....
anybody has floorplans of her modifcation?....

reducing the too much little by little...
also started on front castle...looks better than the round one from kit
as there was space for 2 LCVP on each side...say about 7 m of free space (1 LCPP is 3.3m wide)...times 2...makes that the added building on rear could only be about 7m large...as ship was only 21.1m large...

Looking good! Looking forward to this build after you 4 stacker build. I have dreams to one day convert the old Revell 4 stacker to an APD and also to convert a transport type ship into the USS Pueblo. Might have to look over this kit and see if the hull would work for that project. Keep up the posts and the good work!

mmm..you mean the spy ship?...she was only 54m long....so you'd be doing her say.....close to scale 1/130....that would be interesting but to my view...a waist as the hull would be only thing you can use....better do a APA ship or a cargo ship like the Hawaiian pilot...but its up to each to do his liking.
these revell are very old molds and do have the great but difficult possibility to build ships...no other do...much is needed to do make it look better than toy's..what they initialy where mend to be....but great results can be made with it.....and to me much more rewarding than the more modern kits that are mend...not as toys and are already awesome when build as they are...no offence...they realy look good but the old kits need a lot of modifying and scratch building....imagination as well.....one day I'll do a modern kit and maybe change my opinion lol

this will probably be how it will stay...
just changing the end of the gun makes it totaly different....seriously....its a 5" not a 1" gun

getting close on hull...a little more fine tuning...some putty....more fine tuning...yes...I'll get there
need that hull finished to fix deck on...this is needed before I ad the new structures....as deck isn't flat but follows the curbed line of hull....the structures must also follow that curbe ...at least first level
