David David David... I thought I was clear I'm doing her 1945 how she was in Tokyo Bay... not 1944 (she had a modification done since) nor what ever time your first picture was taken as in that shot she has the round top radar .... and in Tokyo bay she had a square top radar and your picture she isn't even measure 22 paint scheme .... the second picture is USS Missouri ... and the third it shows but very unclean the beams...
and YES SHE HAD support beams... look in this picture ... right after Tokyo bay when she returned to the US

very good Pascal ... it is the hood's hull and deck... and there is another ship just under the Hood... can you guess witch one?

Id guess a Scharnhorst but I could be wrong. German for sure.

Which color did you use for antifouling red? Did you mix it or you went with the bottle? I had something very similar marked USN anti fouling red, but it looked exactly like yours and I found it incorrect versus all paint chips and references. Id double check reviews on the color. its not too late to repaint I reckon, but if you plan to weather - than do nothing and continue, because in reality when weathering, color doesnt matter nearly as much as people think. Anyway, I dont claim mine is better, but this is my interpretation of hull red on US Navy battlewagons.

very close ... not Scharnhorst ... and yes German... only bigger.... Tirpitz, very good guessing, you know your ships
painting is own made and gonna leave it that way... adding more paint could make it turn out bad... will think about it... below water paint color isn't most important thing on a ship to my view

David.... I'm doing Iowa ... not Missouri.... its in the TITEL of this post and before telling somebody to do better research... get the object of research right first..

I strongly disagree, below water paint is very important for a ship, if you doing it full hull. :wave_1: But as we always, say, it is your model and your right to make it as you like. However if this is a build thread, we are gonna chime in always, cant help it. :D

To Pascal,
I didn't want to say it isn't important.... but a shade more or less only specialist will notice, and know I considered it and did some new color tries .... but the paint will stay as it is for 1 major reason … I’m afraid that adding a layer the paint might cracle.. I already did 4 layers in total… I have experienced it on previous ships and when that happens there is only 1 solution, you must scrape all paint off and start from zero… not gonna risk that… and trust me .. in reality it’s darker than it shows on the pictures … it’s ok for me

To David
I am a little (and that is softly said) upset with your attitude... because you messed up, and you can't have that I pointed it out to you, so you had to counter .. and btw... its not so messed up as you say.. maybe not perfect... I might agree... but definitely not messed up, and as prove here is a good rear view

I find it specialy anoying coming from somebody of witch I have never seen a positive post (meaning complementing) and sorry for you but my USS Somers, Burleigh and a few other are very good realisations, but I mean not only to me, and you brad about your realisations ... btw nobody ever saw ...at least Colombo had a wife ... true we never saw her.
I asked 4 or 5 times to see one... none shown.. so now I deduct none exist.
being critical is easy.... realising a model is a whole other affair.
You talk to other modelers like if they work for you and should execute what you say.
You can push peeps doing better, no problem with that... but don impose and stay humbel.

I'm a patient man... but I also have pride and dignity
now ... show or be silent

You are putting some wonderful detail into this. I am most impressed with your efforts.
I always thought the 1/500ish scale rage was the best for warships so I love your choice for this RE-DO. Keep at it.
The Revell Iowa never looked so good.

Nino.
