Advanced set.....

Post by Pontosmodel »

Many aksed for the Advanced kit for duplication of cost and contents.
Don't worry about the Basic set buying. contents of Basic set and Advanced set have not duplicated.
And you can get the Advanced kit separately.

And we missed at the Basicset the Arado Cart for catapulting...
Mainly because this set is 1/200 scale. So if this set is 1/350 we will make these only with PE but for the 1/200 ship it is like papaer craft effect.
So we decided this carts to Advanced set with many Turned brass parts with PE.

But today I decided to add some more details on the basic set.

Image
One of them is the foremast supporting angle.
We would have added this angles to the Advanced but I have achieved success in applying today.
Main problem is with this and very sorry to Brandon of FTH, 3days will be delayed in releasing date because we should change some manual and PE layout for this parts.
But I am sure you and Brandon will love this supporting system part.

Thank you
Kim

Kim,
Drooling and slobbering here looking at this amazing brass :woo_hoo:

Incredible mind blowing detail!

A few questions if ok.

1) Do you have a UK supplier for your products and if so, when do you think it will be available here?

2) How long did you spend putting all that PE on your 1/200 Trumpeter Bismarck?

Sorry couldn't resist that second one

Many Thanks

Pete

Kim, Great job on your photo etch set. I did go ahead and order thru freetimehobbies with Brandon your basic set and will order when it comes up the advance set. I got a question for you and I am no ship expert. The Bismarck is only my second ship I bought.

On your post April 29, on page 11 I was wondering if you will be doing more of the port windows in photoetch? Need someone to help me with the technical term but what I would call the eyebrow above the windows? Not sure what these are but there are some louver's in one of the pictures have you given it any thought of photoetch them?

So if I read this right you have to buy the basic set and then the advanced set after that if you want it or is the advanced set a combined basic set plus add ons

He means "don't worry if you've pre-ordered the Basic set, because the Advanced set does not duplicate any parts in the Basic set. You can just buy the Advanced set on its own later when it is released without worrying about spending money on the same thing twice."

Thanks Timmy c I had a feeling that the advanced set was the combined sets just lost my train of thought...... the set does look good I would still love to see the etch sets etc on the frets instead of the model i.e. exactly like you have the others on your website can that be done

The MK 1 set is ok and very similar to this new set.......... I am sure there are subtle differences between the two though .... I would like to see the set as it would be portrayed on the Pontos website I am sure the model in the photos is not doing this entire set justice

HI all
I open today the 10 Frets of PE.
Genrally 1/350 have 2-4 Frets of these size.
We've tried to reduce the parts but these are the minimum size for our essential design.

The first fret is mainly Rail of almost structure and main deck. and some mast platforms.
THis fret is 25% larger than other fret and some thicker.
Image

The second is Catapult and some deck parts. right bottom is sub rail net for protect to be lost of high cost brass shell of 150mm.
Image

The Third is Some Crane and mast and Super structure waterways on the edge of deck.
Image

The 4th is mainly 37mm/20mm single/ Flak30 and 20mm Quad and some Fastners and boom details.
Image

The Fifth is Derrick, Accom. Ladders, 380 turret detail, Arado parts.
Image

I will post soon from 6-10th frets too.
Thank you

Kim, I hope it is OK that I am posting this, but, I am getting quite a few questions in email about "basic" versus "advanced" set.... please correct me if I am wrong in understanding, but this is how I understand.

This is the "basic" set that we have seen so far in this thread as far as pictures go... it will allow modelers to go ahead and start building the model. An "advanced" set will be available later, BUT, it will be offered as an "ADD-ON" to the basic set and will be no duplicated parts... therefor there is no need to wait for the "advanced" set before buying... you can buy "basic" set now, and "advanced add-on" set later.

** EDIT ** I just noticed that you addressed this further up in the thread with the following... "Don't worry about the Basic set buying. contents of Basic set and Advanced set have not duplicated.
And you can get the Advanced kit separately" *****

Yep Brandon,
All open pictures will be included at Basic set.
Advanced set will include as "Add on" type on this basic set and no duplicated contents.
So for all customer who would add this "Advanced set" should buy or get our "Basic set".

And more "Advanced set" may have contents needed Expert modelling skills.
So I recommend this set for Expert modellers not beginers.

After releasing Basic set I will get enough feedbacks of contents from customers for this Advanced set.
So there is no fixed schedule for releasing this additional Advanced set.

Thank you
Kim

Hi Kim
I have a propose. You can set up more than one Advanced sets, because there some customers want to build a really meticulous and lifelike Bismarck. It means there need so many parts, but other people do not want to build a very complicated one but no very simple. Compare with the pontos for 1/350 IJN YAMATO from Tamiya and Flyhawk which is the Chinese brand, we can see the chinese one is much more meticulous. I hope the pontos can reference some details of Flyhawk for this bismark in this time.
eg. The windows and boxes of the wall in the bridge, the part is very important and very worth to using metal parts to replace, but I can not see any of this part in it. I feel this part is the most
outstanding section in the model of bismarck.
