Hi

Further to last message just found some computer glitches on part numbers.
Page 5 of instructions for screw guard...........'V' shaped 718 should be 366, round part 718 should be 367, 'D' shaped pieces 718 should be 368 and part shown as 372 should be 360.

Hi Kim
Wonder if you can help.......... Have found parts 356 and 357 on instruction sheet and can understand how they assemble but what are they and where do they go?
Also what are parts 358 and where do they fit as cannot find anywhere on instruction sheets?.
Probably me just overwhelmed by number of parts but if you could guide me l would be grateful.

On deck plan - parts numbered 49 should be 50 and parts numbered 50 should be 51 surely - also small platforms projection from deck listed as 149 should be 112 ????

Wow you may be the first modeler who start to work with our set as I know.
Anyway thank you for your indications of our Instruction misses.
356 and 357 are option parts for the turnbuckles used on the Anchor chains and end of riggingwires.(for advanced users)
358 is also used for rigging and deck eyes around the Bollards.(for advanced users)

Yep Screw guard instruction also missed in numbering..
As for the modified or additional instruction will be uproaded as Pdf file when some amount of corrections is filled continuosly.

Now I have the basic set in hand but I am thinking that it might be better to start the build when I also have your advance set. Where are you up to at the moment ? Would there be a target date for the advance set ?

Hi Kim,

Did you manage to get the Catapult walkway and railing included as part of your basic set?

I have attached a picture of another 1/200 model showing the walkway which extends out with the catapult so that you can see the walkway I am trying to describe.

It's present on each side of the catapult and on both sides of the ship.

Hopefully you can consult with the forum when you come to design that next set so that we can make a contribution like the basic set.

Personally as a starter for ten, and in addition to the 'Laufbr�cke' I would like also to see the main funnel grilles included and funnel exhaust pipes, and a nice set of brass props all included.

I know you are concentrating now on the two Indianapolis detail sets (for Academy and Trumpeter) before returning the the 1/200 Bismarck Advanced set, but could you give us all an idea of when you expect to be in a position to start/release the Advanced Set?

Basically everything will be on hold with my Bismarck until you release that next set. I suspect it may be the same for others. I have got a current project on the slips so the timing might work well for me

At least I am too waiting for the advance set. I want to know what exactly is in that set so I could have a whole picture of what I need to do. Planning before building is important. If I start building with the basic set now, I would not buy the advance set since I would possibly pass some of the building steps. I couldn't remove something already assembled and replace with the parts in the advance set.

Until now we would add the following contents on the "Advanced set"
1 Funnel pipes about 44 and Funnel outer ring detail for these pipes.
2 Individual Rail poles for 0.2mm wire railing�
3 Some additional Resin cutter boats.
4 8 Paravanes with some more details (body will be detailed with turned brass).
5 Outer water ways of main deck edge (Basic set has these water ways only in structure deck edges as PE lines).
6 Hangers for 20mm Flak 30
7 8(or more) Small Bitts (Bollard) missed at the Basic set
8 4 sets of Boom for paravanes.
9 Others missed at the Basic set.
10 Screw. 50% possibility : it is very hard decision whether to add or not.
11 Flags : all decals or flags are wrong So we try to do other ways.

I think we can start to design "Advanced set" from late June.

Sorry currently we can't show any picture os Advanced set mainly because real materials have not come yet and these will come out after end of June. and More we would get more feedbacks from customers for the possibility of more addtion parts for this Advanced set. So please advice more with looking over our Basic set for one month.
If not too hard work we would add anything to Advanced set.

Ah, as mentioned before we would add Arado cart for Catapult on the Advanced set.
This cart will be composed of some turned brass parts and PE parts.

Hello--

A question: I'm currently building the 1/200th Bismarck with the Pontos Basic set. There do not appear to be any instructions for adding PE/detailing to the forward section of the main deck superstructure. The plans do include a top-down shot of the after section of the main deck superstructure, showing what to remove and which parts replace the kit parts.

But nothing at all I can find for the forward section.

This is a rather serious omission, unless I'm missing something, somewhere.

Otherwise this set is brilliant!

Hi Tim
Page one of instruction sheet on left hand side shows forward section of deck and all parts to be cut off the surface with a small section on the lower left which is the stern showing removals.
As for replacement then page one right hand side shows lots of numbered indications of replacement parts for forward section and page 4, middle and right hand strip top to bottom are all forward section parts.

Hope after some studying you will begin to see that in fact they are there.

I don't know if you have done so but if you download the various pages of instruction from the Pontos site you can then blow sections up on your computer screen and really see details to help you - and on this make sure you look at/download the amendments/correction sheet .

Hope my ramblings are of help.

Well I hope you mean fore structure may be this area.



I found PE 283 Hatch was veried under the wood layer..so I made this PE float on the wood correctly.


And I've changed the correction PDF also.

I would like to suggest some additions I would like to see in the advanced set.
* The 5 "vents" that are located in the left side of this picture, which are behind the 15 cm turret (letter I above).
* The vents with hatches that are along the length of the superstructure.
* Large triangular vents on the stack

Can we please have the doors on the search light housings there are 4 (see pictures below) I have had a look on the instructions and through the frets but cant see the doors the ladders are there but no doors please correct me if I am wrong

These instructions are a minefield in themselves!
Re top walkway on the funnel - although not shown on the funnel itself on page 7 of instructions it is on page 8 - middle of the five vertical strips of pictures and just over half way down.

We need to help each other a lot on finding things on this build, l searched for hours trying to find what part number 369, 370 were and where they went. Finally found them on page 7 but no indication of how they fold up but god bless Kagero 3D book as without this l would really be struggling. That book is answering many questions for me.
