Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
Re availability of Indy & OHP. Looking at Pontos sister company webbsite (www.hobbydecal.com) they are all in stock and available. If your local store hasn't any stock it probably means they don't wish to restock what would now be a relatively slow moving stock item them having been available for some time.
Re the general Pontos thing on here now my own feeling is that its just their overall customer relations section that needs to be sorted and from what Mr.Kim has just said hopefully that is on the way to being done. Having run my own model railway component production company for some 35 years can vouch that customer aftercare is the most important side by far - miss that and its goodby in the long run.
I also believe that after comments by Tifosi they would probably now be looking at their packaging - l have today just received another Flyhawk set sent from Dawngrocerystore ebay shop. Superb packaging by Flyhawk themselves with no chance of anything being able to move and as l ordered a wood deck by Woodhunter at the same time the same can be said for subsequent packing of the overall package by dawngrocerystore. It arrived with not even a mark on the corrugated packing - all six layers of it!!!. Oh ...... should have said... all post free as well with customs value kept down for charges.
Thankyou to dawngrocerystore yet again and hope this Pontos thing can be sorted as they produce superb products.... just aftercare needs sorting otherwise meet ups at the UK nationals in the future could get quite nasty language wise!!!
Best of luck Mr.Kim and Pontos crew.

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
Virachat,
Well when I had shipped your replacement parts at last April(or Late March) , I remember I had packed beautifully.
Only problem was I wrote your address with my hands not printed.
Anyway I try to do again with printing your adress with printer not hand writing..
From some months ago we have packed more tightly than before.
So I think in these days surely it has been reported that there have been a fewer and fewer in damaged PE or other parts.
Just let me know by email when you receive safely at this second time replacement parts.
HOpe to see you can restart to work again with these replacement parts.
Thank you
Keumho Kim

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
OK, am a little crazy but I thought the Advanced Set was an add-on to the basic set? Why is 21001F1 $30 less than the basic set was a year a go when I bought it?
Thanks!

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
21001f1 is the add-on, with all-new parts. It does not contain parts from the basic set, which is why it's cheaper.
27001f1 is the basic set + the add-on (21001f1), and contains all of the Pontos parts you can possibly get. This is the most expensive version.
23001f1 was the first version of the basic set that did not contain any corrections. This has been discontinued.
23001f2 is the second version of the basic set and contains all of the corrections. This is what is currently sold in stores.

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
Just surprised cause the first edition(Basic) was huge full of all kinds of stuff, the advanced(Add on) set seems a lot less and is only 30 bucks difference...
Either way, Im gonna add it to the Basic. Like others, Im glad this road has found it's ending....

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
Hi Mr. Kim,
I started working on one of the Sheds on the side of the Funnel (using the advanced Set, bismarck part 68). I'm adding wiring detail first and noticed that there are 4 pieced of etched called out for this one side. (1091,1193,1123,1073). Parts 1091,1193 and 1073 are supposed to fit the lengh of the shed but is way too much. is one of these pieces suppose to be a vertical wire? none of the vertical wires are supposed to be added according to your manual ?
Is any one else seeing any more errors with wiring else where on the bismarck?
Thanks
Mac

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
Hi Mr Kim,
I started working with the advanced set yesterday, on one of the hangers to the right and left of the funnel (trumpy part H68). Your directions call out for 4 etched wire parts (1091,1193, 1123 and 1073) . 1091,1193 and 1123 are suppose to add up to the full length of the hanger but it seems to be much longer. I noticed that non of the vertical wires are supposed to be replaced. is one of these parts supposed to be for that?
Is anyone else with the advanced set seeing this or anything like this?
thank
mac

Guys I am very sad to post this, but looks like my set is not going to be here after all. What is different about all the other posts on this thread is, it has nothing to do with Ponto's. This is the email I got today after ordering my set on the weekend of the 2nd. Got an email saying it was going to be shipped after the Nationals, then this one.....would nto share this except I have just gotten one problem solved with this vendor, had to call about that issue cause they would not answer my emails, now this.....soounds like some of you faired better......been waiting for months to start Biz.

Vendor X recently participated in the National IPMS show in Virginia Beach.
The item ordered was sold at the show and will be restocked in our warehouse.
We have the item on order and will get that shipped out as quickly as possible.

The instructions show that 1091 is also used on part H44 - have you tried wrapping it around so it continues to the other side?**Mac** wrote:Hi Mr Kim,

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
The back of the hanger butts up against the main superstructure and can't be wrapped around. I can probably take the middle PE part out.. Just seems like a waste. It would be nice if the new manual had some pictures instead of just drawings . I'm very curious now if anybody else has found things like this in other spots. I've check and rechecked the part numbers to make sure they were rigtTimmy C wrote:The instructions show that 1091 is also used on part H44 - have you tried wrapping it around so it continues to the other side?**Mac** wrote:Hi Mr Kim,

Earlier in the thread Kim said the conduit wires were a last minute addition and were made extra long to avoid fitting issues? Better to have too much than too little anyway!**Mac** wrote:Hi Mr Kim,

Got mine today and while it was a bit too pricey in my opinion, it (along with the original set) seems to include all the stuff I could ever want for a Bismarck and certainly makes for fiddly bit heaven (or hell, depending on your persuasion!

I designed these 1091/1193,1073 a little longer than kit as better longer than shorter especially sime straight lines. You just cut the adequate size on these area.
Almost Remain area will be matched rightly but some parts you need to cut a little. We designed a little longer in many area. And there are some extea wires for missed area where we had not searched or researched.
Thank you

Re: Pontosmodel 1/200 Bismarck Detail Up Set
I am not sure but think some sets were shipped before Vendor attended to natoinal Conventions and you sets after show (yestrday). And almost the first lot have been sold out and now we are packing the second lot will ship to our vendors from tomorrow. So it will take 7-10ays more from now to some customers.liberator24 wrote:Guys I am very sad to post this, but looks like my set is not going to be here after all. Well we spent extra some more weeks for these wire but as you've mentioned, in many area we designed a little longer than realsize becaue it is easy to cut the extra wire bit.Channell wrote: Earlier in the thread Kim said the conduit wires were a last minute addition and were made extra long to avoid fitting issues? Hi Mr Kim,
Just wanted to say can you please get a few of your advanced sets for the Bismarck across to White Ensign Models please in the UK!!!! I'm waiting for these to arrive and Dave at WEM is waiting also.
I don't want to find that I've missed the boat on this set and suddenly they've vanished never to be repeated.
Many thanks
