Thanks Mr Kim. Unfortunately, I tried to explain to the vendor when I paid $150 USD for the set 10 days before they went to the convention that means you put mine aside. You dont load it in a truck and take it to be sold. So glad you are helping them with customer services by sending them replacement sets so they will honor our agreement that is now 3 weeks old. While they hold my $150, I got nothing but excuses till the set arrives.

Just wanted to say can you please get a few of your advanced sets for the Bismarck across to White Ensign Models please in the UK!!!! I'm waiting for these to arrive and Dave at WEM is waiting also.

I don't want to find that I've missed the boat on this set and suddenly they've vanished never to be repeated.

Many thanks

You should telephone your card company and advise them of this as it is illegal to charge any card without despatching goods. Card company's are beginning to clamp down on companies that persist in doing this prior charging and in the UK two company have now had all card transactions stopped. In effect they either stop of their own accord or they will have all means of accepting payment taken away.
The more people report this sort of thing the sooner it will stop.

Dear Mr Kim,

Will it be possible to buy the Pontos brass propellers for Bismarck on their own?
Am I correct in thinking the propellers dont come with the basic set or the standard set with deck?
I had a look around and the only other ones available are G-factor propellers but they dont seem to look as good as Pontos propellers.

Thanks

So glad to see this set! Mine is here after the utter stupidity of the vendor. I did read all the comments and debating contacting the credit card company. It is CRAP because this vendor is a few hours away and shows up at a lot of our shows. They are pretty much the only option I have for all my aftermarket.

Blows......

Jim,
I know what vendor you are talking about as I had the same thing happen with my order. To think I could have ordered it from Japan the same day at the same "discounted" price, had free shipping (saving over $5) and had it in hand sooner.

This is worthy of a repost!
With thanks to "Timmy C"

23001F1 Basic Set:
1st version of the Basic Set that did not contain any corrections.
This has been discontinued, and replaced with 23001F2.

23001F2 Basic Set:
2nd version of the Basic Set, containing all of the corrections.
This is what is currently being sold.

21001F1 Add-On Set:
has all-new parts, but does NOT contain parts from the Basic Set (which is why it's cheaper).
When you combine the Add-On Set (21001F1) with a Basic Set (23001F1), you get...

27001F1 Advanced Set:

The whole enchilada... the most complete (and most expensive) set containing all of the Pontos parts you can possibly get.
The Advanced Set contains all parts of a Basic Set (23001F1 or 23001F2) + Add-On Set (21001F1)

Take your time? I couldn't resist and have been hacking away at my Bismarck #2's hull when I should have been working on my U-Boat. I haven't started working with the new set yet, however.

FYI though, the resin boats that come with the advanced set are actually these:

http://www.squadron.com/1-200-Czech-Mas ... 200015.htm

I've got both; looks like that's where Pontos sourced them. It's good to know if you want them to match the cutters which were stored above the hangar(s) next to the funnel, as the kit boats don't quite look the same and the advanced set only included boats for the main deck that are absent from the kit altogether.

General information for building the Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck:

This is not directly related to the Pontos upgrade sets, but I can strongly recommend anybody to use this link to obtain excellent tips and techniques for building the Bismarck 1/200 model. These tips and techniques will surely complement your efforts to successfully use the Pontos upgrade kits as well!

Hi Channell,
regarding your statement I consider to compare the pictures of the boats in the advanced set and the boats produced by CMK you will see the big difference between these: the PONTOS boats (Kutter and the superimposed Dinghi) have a hull with a smooth surface and represent exactly the smooth hull surface of the boats which were in reality placed on the main deck (see J.Kaiser: Schlachtschiff Bismarck, pp. 035, 036, 039, 064, 065, 070) and even on the upper decks ( see p. 112) they have a hull with a smooth surface. All the boats and cutters on the Bismarck had a smooth surface and none a clinkered hull as reproduced by CMK.
Best regards :thumbs_up_1:

Jason and Chris,

These 5 resin boats have been supplied from CMK with very limited quantity.
After these quantity sold out, we would input our own mastered Resin Boats instead of CMK's.

Channel how many sets do you need to buy in order to have the full compliment of boats on Bismarck so that they look the same instead of using the kit boats

Depends on what time you are portraying (most of the boats were left in Norway before operation Rhine) but 1 package of each size CM cutter + the Pontos advanced set seems to cover it for a full compliment with a couple extras.
